Formosa Oolong Tea Explained
Formosa Oolong is a semi-fermented speciality tea which has been produced in the mountains of Taiwan (formerly known as Formosa).
This special Oolong is fermented approximately 50-70% before being dried in the sun.
The longer fermentation process results in the tea leaves being closer to a black tea than a green tea.
This longer process makes it slightly more unique than traditional oolong teas sourced from the Fujian Province.
The tea leaves are placed in special bamboo baskets during the drying process and the end result is a large, curled leaf with a mild aroma.
For taste, expect a light cup with a flowery, spicy taste.
A must try for oolong lovers & those yet to try a taiwanese oolong!
