From the volcanic island of Jejudo. Made using the smallest tea buds. Scented, grassy and slightly nutty
Korea Woojeon FOP (Flowery Orange Pekoe) is an Organic Green Tea produced using the smallest tea buds. It is Korea’s most famous tea and is cultivated on the volcanic island of Jejudo which is located to the south of the Korean peninsula. Most of Jejudo island has a humid subtropical climate, greatly moderated by the ocean. The salty sea breeze and volcanic fertile soil adds a uniqueness to this tea. Its name “Woojeon” means “before the rain”, because the tea harvest takes place from mid to end of April, before the spring rain sets in. Traditional Japanese and Chinese production methods are used as the tea leaves are steamed and then roasted. In terms of taste, Korean Woojeon has a scented, grassy and slightly nutty profile. The cup presents a light green colour and a fragrant and smooth aroma.
