Japan Matcha kagoshima Organic Green Tea –  Ceremonial Matcha Powder

Ceremonial grade Matcha from Kagoshima, Japan’s southernmost tea growing region, bright green in colour with a mild sweetness and gentle flavour.

Kagoshima’s warm, subtropical climate and volcanic soil from nearby Sakurajima volcano create an ideal environment for tea cultivation.

The tea is developed under careful shading in mineral-rich volcanic soil, combining traditional stone-milling with modern cultivation for a clean, mellow, and beautifully balanced cup.

Taste Profile

Origin

This organic Kagoshima Matcha powder is produced near Sakurajima volcano on Kyushu Island.

Kagoshima is Japan’s second-largest tea-producing region, after Shizuoka, and is known for its modern, efficient farming techniques.

Unlike the cooler central regions like Uji or Shizuoka, Kagoshima benefits from large amounts of sunlight so farmers often use kabuse (shading covers) for up to 20–30 days before harvest to reduce bitterness and develop rich umami.

Brewing Guide

Here’s how to prepare the perfect bowl of Japanese Matcha Green Tea:

  • Matcha Quantity: 1–2 bamboo scoops (approx. 1g–2g)
  • Water Temperature: 70–80°C
  • Preparation Method: Sift matcha into a bowl, add water, and whisk vigorously in an “M” or “W” motion until a thick foam forms
  • Serving Suggestions: Enjoy immediately as a traditional Japanese tea ceremony-style beverage

For a smoother experience, always use sifted matcha and filtered water. Ideal for daily rituals or ceremonial use.
