Prestigous single estate tea from the kurseong valley. Full bodied & grassy with a nice, flowery aroma
Darjeeling SFTGFOP1 Ambootia is an organic black tea from the Darjeeling District in the Himalayan Foothills of West Bengal, India. Darjeeling Ambootia is grown in the North Kurseong Valley at an altitude of 4500 feet above sea level. Ambootia is one of the most prestigious tea estates in Darjeeling. Ambootia comes from the Tibetan word ‘Am-butia’ meaning mango-grove. And it is said ‘if there were once mango trees at the Ambootia Tea Estate, they sure have left their fruity notes in the Ambootia teas’. As well as this, the cool mountain air and Himalayan springs infuse the tea bushes with vitality. In terms of taste, Ambootia presents a well balanced and full bodied tea with a flowery aroma. Did you know? The Ambootia Tea Estate transitioned to 100% certified organic and bio-dynamic production in 1992.
In 1994, Ambootia became Fair Trade certified.
SFTGFOP1 stands for Special Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe.
