China Sencha Organic Green Tea (No.101)
£1.90 – £38.40
Well worked sencha green leaves with a fresh, grass-like flavour and natural, fine sweetness
Green Tea has a long history dating back as far as 5000 years years ago. First mentioned in Chinese literature in 2700 B.C, some years later the plant was brought to Japan by Buddhist Monks. Green tea is produced using the same tea plant as black tea, however once withered it is not fermented like black tea. Fermentation is stopped by either “Steaming” (Japanese Method) or “Pan-Frying” (Chinese Method) before then rolling and drying the tea leaves. Sencha means steamed ( Sen- Steamed and Cha – Tea). Our Organic Sencha Green tea is steamed through traditional Japanese methods and comes from a Chinese Camellia Sinensis tea plant. Presenting a yellow coloured cup which has a mild, earthy and grassy taste, perfect for everyday drinking. Sencha in particular is known for its high vitamin C content, as compared to other tea varieties.
