Loose Leaf Tea

Loose leaf tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, which is used to produce traditional tea types such as black, green, white, and oolong. Herbal, fruit, and rooibos teas, while not made from Camellia sinensis—are also available in loose leaf form; and are naturally caffeine-free. Loose tea is typically grown in major tea-producing regions including China, India, Sri Lanka, Japan, and South Africa. Because it is less processed and not crushed into fine dust particles, loose leaf tea retains more of its natural essential oils and flavour compounds. This results in a fresher, more robust cup of tea when properly brewed.
