Ceylon Lover’s Leap Pekoe Black Tea (No.62)
£2.00 – £45.40
A quality black tea from the pedro Tea Estate, sri lanka. Soft & highly aromatic with a flowery boquet
Ceylon Pekoe Lover’s Leap is an exceptional quality black tea from the Pedro Tea Estate in the Nuwara Eliya District, Sri Lanka. The Pedro Tea Estate was established in 1885. It was one of the first tea estates in Ceylon where tea pioneer James Taylor would perfect the art of tea cultivation. Ceylon Lover’s Leap is produced at the highest tea growing altitude in Ceylon of 6,500-9000 feet above sea level. This makes it subject to excellent climate conditions where the cool nights and moderate rainfall contribute to the teas soft and aromatic flavour. The high elevation is also responsible for its light, golden coloured cup which shines with every sip. In taste, it presents a highly aromatic flavour and floral bouquet.
Did you know? The name ‘Lover’s Leap’ comes from the Lover’s Leap waterfall close to the tea plantation. It is believed that once a princess ran away and leapt to her death down the waterfall with her lover. This was because she was forbidden by her father ‘the King’ to marry the man she loved. This romanticism is entwined with every sip of Ceylon Lover’s Leap.
