Japanese Kokeicha is a speciality Green Tea originally produced and patented by a tea farmer, Mr. Takeshi Takezawa, in the 1930’s.
Kokeicha is a needle shaped tea which is made and formed from ‘konacha’ (ground sencha green tea powder), rice and water.
For instance, ‘Kokei’ in Japanese means ‘fixed solid form’ and ‘cha’ means tea.
Thus, Kokeicha translated to Japanese means ‘formed tea’.
Japanese Kokeicha consists of an anthracite leaf which produces a delicate, vegetal flavour and a citrus coloured cup.
Unlike most loose leaf tea, Kokeicha Green Tea can be brewed at least 5 times before it starts to lose its flavour.

Take a large teaspoon (or 2 grams) of our Japan Kokeicha Green Tea and place into a tea infuser.
Boil the kettle until it reaches 60-80°C or just before the the kettle starts to rumble.
Leave the infuser in a teapot or tea cup for 1-3 mins.
