Sourced from Shizouka on the fujiyama mountains. Olive-green leaf with a sweet, grassy taste
Fukujyu Green Tea has been sourced from Shizuoka on the Fujiyama Mountains. This particular region is where half of all Japanese Green Teas are produced today. Japanese Fukujyu Tea is traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremonies and is a widely consumed brew in Japan. Fukujyu Sencha Green Tea is harvested in autumn and the stalks and broken tea leaves are removed by hand. Sencha itself means “steamed tea” and this method of production is used for most Japanese Green Teas to halt the oxidation process. After the steaming process, the green tea leaves are rolled and dried which helps result in a very fine, leaf structure. In terms of appearance, Japanese Sencha Fukujyu Green Tea produces a light, olive green hue. Fukujyu Japanese Green Tea produces a refreshing aftertaste and is suited to those who like the taste of green tea with subtle sweetness. Overall, this is a perfect green tea for the afternoon or evening.
