Silver Bud Ya Bao White Te Explained
SIlver Bud Ya Bao is an exceptional white tea which consists only of the purest buds from the high mountain regions of Yunnan.
The buds are hand plucked in the winter months from the wild growing tea trees (Camellia sinensis var. assamica).
Camellia sinensis var. assamica tea plants from Yunnan are traditionally used for the production of pu-erh teas.
The production is quite purist: the blossoms are sun dried after plucking.
In part to its origin and production process, Ya Bao is referred to as a “white pu-erh” and its flavour profile develops as it ages.
Younger Yabao buds will be crisp and light, while more mature yabao buds can develop a deep, rich and spiced flavour.
Ultimately, the long storage time, also known as “aging”, results in further grades of ripeness.
The cup presents a mellow scent which has a bouquet and flavour of a tangy, floral freshness.
The colour of the tea liquor is a white golden colour.
SIlver Bud Ya Bao is preferably brewed on its own, but can be added to other green teas to create a more complex and floral flavour.
