Lapsang Souchong Black Tea (No.19)
A full-bodied, smoky black tea, traditionally crafted by roasting and drying large, riper leaves over resin-rich wood.
Lapsang Souchong Black Tea is a bold and distinctive loose leaf tea, traditionally crafted in China using time-honoured methods.
Unlike other black teas, Lapsang Souchong is made from larger, riper leaves picked from the lower parts of the tea bushes.
The tea leaves undergo a meticulous process of fermentation before being carefully roasted on hot iron pans to develop their deep, complex character.
The defining step of the tea production is the smoking process. This is where the tea is dried over resin-rich woods, such as pine, infusing it with its signature smoky aroma and flavour.
The result is a beautifully large, black leaf that delivers an intensely smoky and spicy taste. Perfect for those who appreciate a full-bodied, adventurous tea experience.
Enjoy Lapsang as a strong, warming brew on its own or add some milk for a more rounded flavour.

History of Lapsang Souchong Tea
Lapsang Souchong Tea has a rich history rooted in China’s Fujian province. This is where it is believed to have originated in the Wuyi Mountains during the Qing Dynasty.
Legend has it that during wartime, tea producers had to speed up the drying process to protect their crops from invading armies.
To do so, they dried the leaves over pinewood fires, inadvertently creating the tea’s signature smoky aroma and deep flavour.
Over time, this unique processing method became a revered tradition, distinguishing Lapsang Souchong as one of the world’s most distinctive black teas.
Our Loose Leaf Lapsang Black Tea stays true to this heritage. Using large, riper leaves that undergo careful fermentation, roasting, and smoking over resin-rich woods.
